Lauren Ash Morgan, born in 1981 and a part of SSC's Board of Directors since 2011 She was one of the co-artistic directors of Speech of Fire. In her role as the Artistic Director of SSC, she was SSC's composer, musician and text director as well as the costume, set and music design. In her final year she served as lighting designer and director in SSC's production of King Lear. She had been directing from the ensemble but in this the year that she made her directorial debut.
